September 27, 2017
MEGAWORLD Corp., the property development arm of businessman Andrew Tan, said it is planning for its sixth office tower in its Uptown Bonifacio property in Taguig City.
Megaworld Senior Vice President Kevin Tan said the developer has already completed four office towers in Uptown with a total of 150,000 square meters (sq m) while currently building the fifth tower, which will have 105,000 sq m of office space.
The turned-over buildings are Uptown Place One, Uptown Place Two and Uptown Place Three, as well as the 53,000-sq-m Alliance Global Tower (AG Tower), Megaworld’s new headquarters. The World Commerce Center, meanwhile, is under construction.
The first four towers are built on top of a podium that houses the Uptown Mall, while World Commerce Center and the sixth building will also have access to the mall either underground or via a skywalk, Tan said.
The 30-story AG Tower is along 36th Street in Megaworld’s 15.4-hectare Uptown Bonifacio township in the northern district of Fort Bonifacio.
“On our 28th year as a company, we have transferred to our brand-new corporate headquarters,” the company said. “This is a product of the more than two decades of hard work, dedication and excellence of the 5,000-plus employees of the Megaworld Group.”
The AG Tower is now home to Megaworld and its units Global-Estate Resorts Inc., Empire East Land Holdings Inc. and other affiliate companies.
Megaworld’s office floors boast of wide working spaces spanning across 2,100 sq m per floor. Each floor features the “open office layout”, allowing corporate transparency among its employees.
The office floors have a total of almost 100 meeting and conference rooms, as well as training and testing rooms. Each floor also features employee wellness and creativity lounges. Each lounge also has a pantry with tables and chairs, as well as coffee facilities.
The building also features a 300-sq-m “skygarden” at the 18th level, which connects directly to the executive offices and the Chairman’s Boardroom that can accommodate around 54 people. Another 445-sq-m skygarden is at the roof deck.
